World tree nut output to increase in 2016/17
The International Nut & Dried Fruit Council (INC) forecasts world tree nut production to increase 5.77% in 2016/17 to reach 4.02 mln tonnes from 3.80 million tonnes in 2015/16. This data appears in the INC’s latest Global Statistical Review.
The review includes production trends for almonds, Amazonia (Brazil) nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, walnuts, peanuts, dates, dried apricots, dried figs, prunes, raisins, sultanas and currants for 2016-17.
